Deerfield Township trustees will vote Tuesday, July 21, on a state infrastructure grant agreement to replace aging water mains and resurface roads in the Greenfields neighborhood.
The board will consider a cooperation agreement between Deerfield Township and the Warren County Commissioners to apply for Ohio Public Works Commission funding for the Greenfields Roadway Improvements and Waterline Replacement Project.
The scope is substantial: roughly 3,100 linear feet of water main along Fields Drive and Green Place would be torn out and replaced with new ductile iron pipe. The existing lines range from 6 to 12 inches in diameter.
Road work includes trench paving at the intersection of Fields Drive and Old Irwin Simpson Road, trench paving on Mason Montgomery Road, and full asphalt resurfacing of the neighborhood's streets, according to the cooperation agreement posted with the meeting agenda.
Under the funding split, OPWC would reimburse 49% of total project costs. The township and county together cover the remaining 51%, with the township paying for roadway improvements and Warren County paying for water main work. Warren County would manage the project.
The total dollar amount has not been disclosed.
The application targets OPWC Program Year 41, which covers fiscal year 2028. Billy Highfill, the township's public works service director, prepared the agenda item. Township Administrator Eric Reiners would be authorized to sign all related documents if the board approves the resolution.
Board President Kristin Malhotra will preside over the 5:30 p.m. meeting at 4900 Parkway Drive, Suite 150.
