Mason voters in two precincts will cast ballots at new locations this fall, and early in-person voting for the Nov. 3 general election opens Tuesday, Oct. 6.

All early voting takes place at the Warren County Board of Elections, 520 Justice Drive in Lebanon, according to the board's public election notice. Regional election officials projected 50% to 60% or higher turnout at an Oct. 2 press conference, the Dayton Daily News reported.

Mason polling changes

Two Mason precincts have permanent polling location changes, according to Warren County Board of Elections records. Precinct 108 moved from 7th Day Adventist Church on Mason Montgomery Road to Christ's Church at 5165 Western Row Road. Precinct 110 moved from the same church to North Cincinnati Community Church at 6170 Irwin Simpson Road.

Both changes were required because the precincts exceeded the state's maximum voter count. Voters can confirm their assigned polling location on the Ohio Secretary of State's voter lookup site.

What to bring

Ohio law requires a valid photo ID for in-person voting. Accepted forms include a non-expired Ohio driver's license, Ohio ID card or U.S. passport, according to the Dayton Daily News voter guide. Voters without a valid photo ID can still vote absentee using the last four digits of their Social Security number.

What's on the ballot

All Warren County voters will see two countywide levy renewals, the Journal-News reported. A 1-mill, five-year Mental Health Recovery Board levy would collect $7,677,198 a year and cost property owners $16 per $100,000 of appraised value. A 1.21-mill, five-year Senior Services levy would collect $9,016,446 a year at $22 per $100,000.

Additional local levies appear in other parts of the county. Statewide, voters will decide a U.S. Senate race between Republican Sen. Jon Husted and Democrat Sherrod Brown, and a governor's race between Republican Vivek Ramaswamy and Democrat Amy Acton.

Montgomery County Board of Elections Director Jeff Rezabek urged voters at the Oct. 2 press conference to pay attention to local measures. "That's the kind of stuff that's closest to you as a voter," Rezabek said.

Key deadlines

The voter registration deadline is Monday, Oct. 5. Ohio boards of elections and the Secretary of State's office are open until 9 p.m. that day for registration.

The deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail is Oct. 27 at 8:30 p.m. Under a change in Ohio election law, there is no longer a grace period for returning absentee ballots. All ballots must reach the board by 7:30 p.m. on Election Night, Nov. 3. Ballots can be returned by mail, dropped off at the office or placed in the drop box.

On Election Day, polls open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m. Voters must go to their assigned precinct. The Board of Elections office is not open for voting that day. The board's phone number is 513-695-1358.
