A free talk on how menopause affects memory, mood and behavior comes to the Manor House in Mason on Oct. 21.

Anna Guerdjikova, director of administrative services for the Harold C. Schott Eating Disorders Program at Lindner Center of Hope, will lead the session. Guerdjikova holds a PhD in neuroscience and a master of social work degree from the University of Cincinnati, along with a medical degree from Medical University Sofia in Bulgaria. She has published more than 50 peer-reviewed journal articles on mood and eating disorders, according to her LinkedIn profile.

The session, titled "Mind, Mood and Menopause: Why We Forget, Feel, and React Differently—And What to Do About It," runs from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A virtual option is also available.

The talk will cover how hormonal changes during midlife affect brain chemistry and emotional well-being, according to the event listing on Lindner Center of Hope's website. Topics include the role of estrogen and testosterone shifts in stress and mood, and practical strategies for supporting brain health during midlife transitions.

The event is part of Lindner Center of Hope's 2026 Free Community Education Series, a monthly program presented by the Mason-based mental health center's clinicians at the Manor House, 7440 Mason-Montgomery Rd. The series is supported by Manor House and community partners.
