Mason swimmers interested in triathlon racing can sign up now for a free clinic that covers the competition's swimming leg.
The City of Mason Manta Rays competitive swim team is hosting a Triathlon/Open Water community swim clinic on Wednesday, Aug. 12, from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Mason Municipal Aquatic Center, 6249 Mason-Montgomery Road. The session will take place in the facility's 50-meter pool.
Registration is free. The clinic is geared toward older children and adults who want to learn what goes into the swim portion of a triathlon, according to the city's WebTrac registration page. Participants can sign up now through the city's online WebTrac portal.
The City of Mason Rec account announced the clinic on X on Thursday, July 30, directing residents to register online.
Part of a 2026 clinic series
The August triathlon session is the latest in a series of free Manta Rays community swim clinics offered this year. The team held a freestyle technique clinic in March, a backstroke clinic in April, and a water safety session for parents with toddlers in June. The backstroke clinic required participants to be comfortable swimming unassisted in deep water, though no specific age minimum is listed for the triathlon session.
