Kings Island is adding Jason Voorhees to its Halloween Haunt lineup beginning Friday, Sept. 25, with a new haunted maze called "Jason: Blood Reign."
The maze, based on the "Friday the 13th" franchise, is the marquee addition to the Mason theme park's annual scare season. Halloween Haunt runs on select nights from Friday, Sept. 25, through Saturday, Oct. 31, at 6300 Kings Island Drive in Mason.
Kings Island is one of three Six Flags parks nationwide to receive the attraction, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported. The maze was developed in partnership with Horror, Inc., the company that owns the "Friday the 13th" franchise and launched the Jason Universe brand of games, merchandise and shows.
A second new maze, "Metal Massacre," also debuts at Halloween Haunt 2026, according to the Enquirer. "The Conjuring: Beyond Fear," based on New Line Cinema's "The Conjuring Universe," returns for a second season as a separately ticketed "SCREAMium" experience.
What tickets cost
Park admission and season passes do not cover the haunted mazes. Here is the pricing breakdown, according to the Enquirer:
- Daily park ticket: starts at $45 online
- Halloween Haunt bundle (park admission plus haunted mazes): starts at $64
- Daily haunted attractions pass (add-on): starts at $15
- All-season haunted attractions pass: starts at $29
- The Conjuring: Beyond Fear (separate SCREAMium ticket): starts at $20
Tricks and Treats for families
Families looking for a scare-free visit will find one at Tricks and Treats, the park's daytime alternative. The event runs on select days from Sunday, Sept. 27, through Sunday, Nov. 1, according to Attractions Magazine.
Activities include costume contests, seasonal treats and Peanuts entertainment. A Halloween show called "The Monsters Are Coming, Charlie Brown" features the Peanuts gang, and kids can ride The Great Pumpkin Coaster.
Park riding a strong year
Kings Island heads into the fall on a high note. Park president Tony Carovillano announced that Phantom Theater: Opening Nightmare won first place for Best New Family Attraction at the 2026 Golden Ticket Awards, presented by Amusement Today.
"Earning the Gold Ticket Award for Best New Family Attraction is a tremendous achievement and a reflection of the passion, innovation and imagination behind every scene," Carovillano said in a Six Flags press release dated Monday, Sept. 14.
