Landon Miller scored twice to lead the Mason Comets boys soccer team past the Beavercreek Beavers 3-1 on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Mason Multi-Purpose Field.

The 7 p.m. home match, broadcast live on the WE_ARE_MBC YouTube channel with student announcers James Froelich and Jacob Kammerman on the call, was Mason's first non-conference victory of the 2026 season, according to Mason Sports Radio.

The first half was a defensive battle. Mason Sports Radio, the student-run broadcast team that covered the game on X, described the opening 40 minutes as a physical matchup, with neither side finding the net before the break.

The second half opened differently. Miller broke the deadlock, putting Mason ahead 1-0. Beavercreek answered with an equalizer to level the score at 1-1.

Mason didn't stay level for long.

Begzhan forced a Beavercreek own goal to restore the Comets' lead at 2-1. Minutes later, Miller beat the Beavercreek goalkeeper one-on-one to complete his brace and set the final score at 3-1.

@MHSsportsradio: "MILLER MAKES IT 3 OFF OF THE 1-ON-1 WITH THE BEAVERCREEK GOALKEEPER!"

After the final whistle, Miller sat down with Froelich for a post-game interview about his two-goal performance, posted to the Mason Broadcasting Company's social channels.

Head coach Garrett Szabo's squad now faces a quick turnaround. Mason hosts Oak Hills on Thursday, Sept. 17, then travels to St. Xavier on Saturday, Sept. 19.
