The City of Mason Manta Rays swim team is accepting registration for a free backstroke clinic in November at the Mason Municipal Aquatic Center.
The November session is part of the team's Community Swim Clinics series, according to the city's registration page. The confirmed listing covers children ages 7 to 12.
The clinic is geared toward swimmers who already know the backstroke. Participants will work on improving their technique through stroke drills used in competitive swimming, according to the program description.
All participants must be comfortable swimming unassisted in deep water for the length of a 25-meter pool in backstroke. Instructors will not be in the water with swimmers. The program asks participants to wear a swimsuit and goggles.
The clinics take place from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Mason Municipal Aquatic Center, 6050 Mason Montgomery Rd., according to the Warren County events calendar.
The Manta Rays, Mason's competitive swim team, host the clinics to promote water safety and provide swimming instruction. Registration is open through the city's WebTrac system under program No. 451030.
