Drivers who use Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road west of Turtlecreek Road can stop detouring. The Warren County Highway Department completed repairs to Bridge #38-2.93 and reopened the road on Wednesday, after a weeklong closure caused by a vehicle crash.
The bridge, located between addresses 797 and 1000 Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road, had been shut down since Wednesday, July 15, when the Warren County Engineer's Office announced the span was closed "until further notice" due to structural and guardrail damage from the crash.
During the closure, the county routed traffic along Columbia Road, Kingsview Drive, and Turtlecreek Road.
The damage
The Warren County Engineer's Office said the crash damaged both the bridge structure and its guardrail, forcing an immediate closure. The office's July 15 press release stated it was "currently developing a plan to repair the bridge." The Highway Department handled the work in-house, with no outside contractor named in the reopening announcement.
Second closure since 2022
This is the second time since late 2022 that the same bridge has forced a road closure. In November 2022, the county shut down the same stretch of Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road for a planned bridge repair that lasted about four weeks. DDK Construction Inc. and the Warren County Highway Department completed that earlier project, and the road reopened on Tuesday, November 15, 2022.
