Mason kids made salsa as a science experiment at Mason Community Center. More than 20 additional enrichment classes are open for signup, with sessions running through late November.
Mason Recreation wrapped its STEM Kitchen Challenge enrichment class, where young participants crafted salsa while learning kitchen science, the department said on X. The class was part of a new slate of enrichment programs Mason Recreation announced in late August.
The community center's online catalog lists 22 enrichment offerings available for registration. Prices range from free to $166 depending on the class and membership tier.
Robotics workshops run by Mason Center for Robotics teams begin Saturday, Oct. 3, with a FIRST Lego League session from 9 a.m. to noon. A Battlebots and 3D Design workshop follows Oct. 24, and a FIRST Robotics session is set for Nov. 21. Those workshops cost $25 to $45.
Cincy STEM Lab's "Junior Detectives: Forensic Science Lab" on Tuesday, Oct. 20, puts students ages 7 to 12 through hair analysis, simulated blood evidence and fingerprint lifting to solve a stolen-diamonds mystery. That class runs $42 to $70.
Snapology's "Amusement Park Adventures" workshop on Saturday, Oct. 10, has kids ages 6 to 14 building rides and games to create their own amusement park. A second Snapology session, "All About Gears," is scheduled for Nov. 15. Both cost $35 to $63.
Art options include Creating Joy Drawing Classes on Tuesdays, with an elementary session at 6:30 p.m. and a preschool/kindergarten session at 5:30 p.m. Abrakadoodle art workshops on Monday, Oct. 26, offer a session for ages 3 to 5 and another for ages 6 to 12, starting at $17.
For families who prefer the outdoors, the Warren County Parks District runs a free "Spider Search" nature walk at Pine Hill Lakes Park on Sunday, Oct. 18, and a "Fall Tree Identification Hike" on Nov. 22.
