Two Mason-area physicians are opening a new primary care practice that caps patient panels at about 600 people per doctor—a fraction of the 2,000-plus typical in traditional offices.
Dr. Jill C. Manahan, DO, and Dr. Kai Huang, MD, will host a public grand opening Thursday, July 30, at 7567 Central Parke Blvd., Suite C. Guests can meet both physicians and tour the space.
The practice is affiliated with MDVIP, a national network of more than 1,400 physicians that pairs smaller patient panels with an annual membership fee. The fee works alongside existing insurance, including Medicare, and covers an annual wellness program with advanced labs, health screenings, and a personalized care plan. MDVIP says national membership fees range from $2,000 to $5,000 per year, though the specific cost at this Mason location has not been publicly listed.
The smaller roster means same- or next-day appointments, after-hours physician availability, and longer visits, according to MDVIP.
About the physicians
Manahan brings more than 20 years of clinical experience. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and graduated from the University of Cincinnati and Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, completing her residency at the University of Hawaii. Her clinical interests include women's health, nutrition, integrative health, and alternative therapies.
Huang has more than 15 years of experience with a focus on cardiovascular health and preventive medicine. He completed medical school at the University of Cincinnati and his internship and residency at University Hospital.
Both physicians are affiliated with Good Samaritan Hospital and Bethesda North Hospital. Though they share the same office suite, each maintains an independent MDVIP practice, giving patients the choice of which doctor's approach fits their health goals.
One other MDVIP-affiliated physician, Dr. Albert Weisbrot, already practices in Mason, according to the network's online directory.
