After a week of severe storms and flash flooding across the Cincinnati region, Mason and Deerfield Township residents are in for a calmer stretch. The weekend forecast points toward clearing skies and a steady warming trend that will push temperatures into the mid-90s by Monday.
The City of Mason cancelled its Music in Mason outdoor concert on Thursday, July 17, citing inclement weather the same evening the NWS recorded a Cincinnati-area flash flood. That rough stretch is over.
Friday night, July 25
Partly cloudy with a low around 59°F in Mason, according to the NWS. North wind around 5 mph becoming calm by evening. A good night for a walk before the heat builds.
Saturday, July 26
Sunny to partly cloudy skies with highs in the low-to-mid 80s in Mason. A slight chance of a stray shower remains, but conditions should stay mostly dry. UV levels are expected to reach the Very High range, so sunscreen is a must for anyone spending time outdoors.
Out and about: The Deerfield Farmers Market opens at 9 a.m. at the Kingswood Park Community Pavilion and runs until noon, per the Deerfield Township Parks & Recreation calendar. The market features locally grown produce, baked goods, coffee, and handmade items. MYO Baseball games run all day at Cottell Park and Fleckenstein Park.
Kings Island's Grand Carnivale continues through Sunday, August 2, with international music, cultural crafts, and the nightly Spectacle of Color Parade. Included with park admission.

Looking ahead: Tuesday, July 28
Deerfield Township and The Arts Alliance present the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra under conductor John Morris Russell at 8 p.m. at Cottell Park, 5847 Irwin Simpson Road. The free concert features a drone show immediately after. Northern Cincinnati Youth Orchestras perform at 5:30 p.m. and the Cincinnati Jazz Orchestra takes the stage at 6:30 p.m. Food trucks, beer, and wine will be on site. No tickets required. Bring blankets and lawn chairs.
Road closure: Irwin Simpson Road will be closed from Nottingham to Snider from 6 to 10 p.m. Overflow parking is available at Northern Cincinnati Community Church, 6170 Irwin Simpson Road, with a free shuttle to the park.
