Mason girls volleyball enters the OHSAA Division I tournament as the No. 4 seed in the Southwest District bracket.

The OHSAA released the bracket Sunday, Oct. 11, placing the Comets in the Southwest 3 sub-bracket. Mason will open postseason play against No. 22 West Clermont at Lakota East High School on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 5 p.m.

Three teams sit above Mason in the seeding: No. 1 Seton, No. 2 Ursuline Academy and No. 3 St. Ursula.

The Comets carry momentum into the postseason. Mason swept Turpin 3-0 in a nonconference match on Saturday, Oct. 10, and beat Hamilton on Senior Night on Thursday, Oct. 8. The team's record stood at 13-5 after an Oct. 6 loss to undefeated Seton, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. The Hamilton and Turpin victories pushed that mark to at least 15-5.

Mason's conference dominance is well established. The Comets reached their 100th consecutive Greater Miami Conference victory on Sept. 8, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.

The streak is unmatched in league history.

In the Southwest 3 sub-bracket, the other first-round matchup pits No. 8 Springboro against No. 15 Beavercreek at Lakota East at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 27. The Southwest 3 winner advances to face the Southwest 1 winner.

District finals are set for Saturday, Oct. 31. Regional semifinals follow on Thursday, Nov. 5, with the state tournament running Nov. 12-14.
