The last Music in Mason concert of 2026 hits Downtown Mason Plaza on Friday, closing out a nine-show summer series that ran every Friday since late May.
The City of Mason confirmed the finale in a July 29 post on X, calling it the last chance for residents who haven't yet made it out.
Friday's show carries an Island/Yacht Party theme. Eyes Up Here opens the evening, followed by headliner The SunBurners, according to the Mason-Deerfield Chamber of Commerce event listing. Music runs from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is free.
Beyond the bands, the event includes food trucks, kids' activities with inflatables and local business displays. American Legion Post 194 sells adult beverages, with proceeds split among the Mason Parks and Recreation Foundation, American Legion Post 194, and VFW Post 9622.
The city's Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) is also active, so attendees can carry drinks purchased from participating downtown businesses.
Road closures begin at 3 p.m.: West Main Street from U.S. Route 42 to North Forest Avenue and North West Street from U.S. Route 42 to Church Street will be shut down for the event.
The 2026 series launched on Friday, May 29, with School of Rock and Fortunate Sons. It was scheduled for nine Fridays but lost two shows to severe weather. Storms scrubbed the June 26 concert and the July 17 show, which had been set to feature DJ Spicy Noodle and Gee Your Band Smells Terrific. As we reported July 23, the remaining performances pushed forward despite the cancellations.
Each concert was budgeted at roughly $9,000, according to figures Council Member Joy Bennett presented at an October 2025 Arts & Culture Committee meeting. That covered about $5,200 for two bands, $3,200 for staffing and setup, plus kids' activities and a sound system shared across the season's shows.
