Mason Recreation wants residents to know there's still time to grab a fishing rod and head to Pine Hill Lakes Park.
The city's recreation department posted a reminder on X on Tuesday, noting that summer fishing passes remain available for purchase. The park, at 211 Kings Mills Rd., is one of eight city parks spanning more than 300 acres.
What you need to know
Anyone 10 years or older needs a fishing pass to cast a line at Pine Hill Lakes Park, according to the city's fishing information page. Children under 10 fish free. No Ohio state fishing license is required because the lake is city-managed.
Adult daily passes cost $9. A Youth/Senior daily pass is also available. Season passes with tiered pricing for residents and nonresidents are listed on the city's website, though specific season rates should be confirmed at imaginemason.org before purchasing.
Passes can be bought at the Mason Community Center, 6050 Mason-Montgomery Rd., online through the center's registration system, or by phone at 513-229-8555. As of Wednesday, the online system showed 20 or more adult daily passes in stock.
Park details
Mason Recreation also runs a "Fish by Moonlight" program at the park throughout the year, with fishing from 6 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. the following morning. Dates for upcoming sessions were not listed in available city calendars. The department also offers periodic clinics for beginners.
