The Kings Knights' Week 3 game at Loveland kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, after organizers adjusted the time for dangerous heat.
The non-conference matchup is one of at least 10 Greater Cincinnati high school football games with changed kickoff times Friday, WCPO 9 reported. For Kings fans heading to Loveland, the later start is meant to spare players and spectators the worst of a heat wave that has baked the region all week.
The thermometer hit 96 degrees at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport on Thursday, Sept. 3. That was the first time the area reached that mark in 2026, according to FOX 19. Friday's forecast called for low-to-mid 90s with triple-digit heat indices. Friday night conditions at area stadiums are expected to stay very warm and humid, with strong storm chances possible.
Cincinnati-area programs prepared all week. Teams held early-morning practices or moved workouts indoors to keep players out of the worst afternoon heat, WCPO 9 reported.

- Moeller at Louisville Trinity, 8 p.m.
- Ross at Northwest, 7:30 p.m.
- Taylor at Lawrenceburg, 8 p.m.
- Wyoming at Monroe, 7:30 p.m.
The Kings game is a Labor Day weekend non-conference contest in Week 3 of the Ohio high school football season. Several of the matchups on the adjusted list pit Eastern Cincinnati Conference and Southern Buckeye Athletic/Academic Conference programs against one another.
WCPO 9 said it would continue updating its list if additional games shift Friday.
