Seton beat the Mason Comets girls soccer team 3-1 on Saturday, Aug. 29, at Mason.
Most of the scoring came in the second half, which Mason Sports Radio described as high-scoring. The Saints entered the game 3-0 and had not allowed a goal all season, outscoring opponents 17-0, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported. Mason's goal made the Comets the first team to dent Seton's shutout streak this year.
Seton junior Mary Jung had four goals and four assists through the Saints' first three games. Mason junior goalkeeper Ella Krimpenfort earned an Enquirer athlete-of-the-week nomination after recording seven saves in a 1-0 shutout of St. Ursula on Aug. 17.
The Comets travel to St. Ursula on Monday, Aug. 31, then host Middletown on Sept. 8.
