Sloane Stephens and Jack Draper spent Wednesday morning, Aug. 12, signing autographs and playing games with young patients at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

The two players, both competing at the Cincinnati Open on wild cards, made the visit on the first day of qualifying play at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, according to the tournament's website. Both are in the field on wild cards.

Stephens founded The Sloane Stephens Foundation in 2013 to improve opportunities for underserved children through education, fitness and sport. The 2017 US Open champion was a finalist for the ESPN Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award in 2019 and 2024 and won the Sports Business Journal Celebration of Service Award in 2023.

Draper, 24, is a British left-hander who reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 4 in June 2025. He won the Indian Wells Masters 1000 title that year and reached the 2024 US Open semifinals. Andy Murray joined his coaching team in June 2026.

Cincinnati Children's Hospital is a returning partner of the 2026 Cincinnati Open, which is in its 127th year. The tournament drew a record 285,000 fans in 2025 and earned both ATP Tour and WTA Tour 1000-Level Tournament of the Year honors from players that season. Tournament director Bob Moran said in a July 28 announcement that the strength of the partner portfolio reflects where the Cincinnati Open is headed.

The hospital visit was one of several community outreach efforts during tournament week. The Cincinnati Open's Community Weekend on Aug. 8–9 featured Kids Day activities, player autograph sessions, the inaugural Cincinnati Open 5K and the U.S. debut of Red Bull BassLine. The tournament also runs a "Cincy Serves" program to honor locals who have made an impact on the Greater Cincinnati community and a "Pups and Players" initiative to encourage pet adoption.
